Great Sites Member Demographics 2012

Great Sites recently published its latest member demographics (below) for its Australian and New Zealand members. The analysis is based on their most active members over the last 12 months.

Great Sites offers advertisers Solus email campaigns which can be targeted to audiences using member demographics derived from  over 50 survey questions that members have answered. Telemarketers and Direct Marketers can access phone and postal data to support their campaigns using the same targeting capabilities.

Solus email is a third-party advertisement that is sent to an opt-in subscription email list comprised of demographics of target consumers. For example, the owner of an opt-in list related to Internet Security would allow an anti-virus software company to send a direct advertising email about their Internet Security product to members of the opt-in list. The e-mail advertisement will generally not show any information about the Web site or company who owns the email list, but will appear to come directly to you from the third party brand.

The analysis from Great Sites highlights that it’s most active members consist of a third of longer term members (over 3 years), one third medium term members (1-3 years) and one third new members. NEW : Watch & Win (video ad & promotion)

This month Great Sites launched Watch & Win a smart way for advertisers to engage with consumers using TVCs or other video assets. Great Sites offers an end to end solution or can integrate with the  advertisers own promotion.

Members of the Great Site portal are invited to view the advertisers video via site promotions and email. After they view the TVC or video, members are rewarded with entries into Great Sites grand prize of $30,000. The incentive can be further extended via the advertiers own prize or promotion if they wish.

The member watches a video for a defined period time before a question is displayed about the content of the video. The format and function of these questions is flexible and can be customised in a number of ways to ensure the member is fully engaged with the advertisers video. This promotes recall and recognition of the advertisers message.

Once the question is answered the member can then be redirected to the advertisers site or an entry form for the advertisers own promotion.

Co-registration can also be added at this point to automatically pass the users contact information onto the advertisers, which requires an opt-in question to be asked by the advertiser.

Q Ltd launches Great Sites

Today our parent company, Q Ltd has  launched a brand new membership website www.greatsites.com.au, the first step in the development of a comprehensive online membership portal which will feature an enhanced and expanded offering for members and advertisers.

Great Sites is an expansion of Q Ltd’s original The Great Australian Survey and for it’s 500,000+ members.  The new portal will continue to reveal a range of new features over the coming months .

Members visiting the site will have access to competitions, offers, shopping, entertainment and research surveys. There will be more prizes and a focus on social media integration and engagement with and between members.

Jon Ostler CEO of Q Ltd’s digital asset development division QEDigital said,

“We have seen many rapid changes over the last three years with an increasing number of membership based sites playing in our space as well as the increased use of social media, one day deals and group buying sites by our members. The new portal  is based on a .NET CMS (content management system) and CRM (customer relationship management) platform which will support rapid development of new capabilities in response to rapidly evolving member requirements and online behaviours.
